Ken Gracey, robotics volunteer at North Tahoe Middle School and High School, will share an overview of Parallax and his experiences at the schools over the last year. The discussion with the Silicon Mountain group will focus on the following topics:

and#8226; How itand#8217;s being received in the schools

and#8226; Sharing a few hands-on robotic examples

Phil Cohen of BinaryTrees.net will give an overview of the KidsRuby project, whose purpose is to make it fun and easy to learn how to program (for kids or grown-ups!) which can lead to life-changing opportunities. The discussion with the Silicon Mountain group will focus on the following topics:

Dr. Leri will share an update on the outcome of the TTUSD Technology meeting held on Aug. 2.

The meeting will be on Monday, Aug. 13, 6-8 p.m. at Pizza on the Hill in Tahoe Donner, 11509 Northwoods Blvd., Truckee. A $5 fee includes pizza and soft drinks. Before and after the discussion, there will be time for networking with other technology people who live and work in the Tahoe-Truckee region.
