Debbie Metcalf, the new owner of Corkscrews Wine Bar and Shop in the Cobblestone, poured a Sauvignon Blanc for a customer during the busy wine walk.

Downtown Tahoe City turned into one big party at the Summer Solstice Wine Walk Saturday, June 19. More than 600 locals and visitors alike flocked to the heart of the town to stroll from one wine and food station to the next while meeting and greeting friends along the way.

Visitors from as far away as Germany, New York, Florida, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil delighted not only in the gourmet grazing and wine tasting, but also in the charming shops, restaurants and majestic views of Lake Tahoe.

Those who attended declared the event a big success, including all the downtown Tahoe City businesses that saw a spike in walk in traffic and sales.

The wine walk was produced by Maja Thaler of Sandbox Studio and Lolly Kupec and Ed Miller of Wild West Communications as a fundraiser for the Tahoe City Downtown Association (www.visittahoecity.com), the organization that brings those fun concerts on Commons Beach every Sunday.
