It was standing room only at the Glenshire Clubhouse last week for the Soroptimist International of Truckee-Donner’s “Woman of Distinction” reception.

That’s what happens when recipient Lisa Dobey has made such an impact on the community.

The evening started off with wine and a buffet dinner for approximately 150 guests who populated the clubhouse. , a former Sierra Nevada Region Governor of Soroptimists, presented a slide showoff the Soroptimists’ work in Nepal building a dorm for girls to live in while going to school.

Dobey, who is the CEO of the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation, was surprised with a cleverly written song sung in unison by her staff. After all, every serious event needs a little comic relief! Dobey graciously accepted her award and spoke of her passion ” philanthropy, and how she genuinely enjoys going to work each and every day.
