The North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce will host a Chamber Business Mixer at the Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) Friday, May 20, 6-9 p.m., 291 Country Club Drive in Incline Village, Nev.Attendees will mix and mingle at TERC, on the Sierra Nevada College campus, and enjoy TERC’s debut of its 15-minute 3D production andamp;#8220;Lake Tahoe in Depth.andamp;#8221; Additionally, special screenings of the videos andamp;#8220;Charting the Course to Clarityandamp;#8221; and andamp;#8220;Best Management Practices/Defensible Space for the Homeowner.andamp;#8221; Flights around a 3D computer-graphics model of the Lake Tahoe Basin via the upgraded Otellini 3D Visualization Lab with 3D projection will also be offered. Truckee Donner Horsemen regret they must postpone the Tack Swap and Vet clinic scheduled for May 21 due current concerns with an outbreak of an infectious equine virus that has been detected in Northern California. The Tack Swap will now be held at the June 18 Combined English and Western Horse Show at McIver Arena in Truckee.
North Tahoe School will hold a community book drive Friday, May 20, 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the dining commons. The event is open to the public and is an effort to raise money for the Red Cross in Japan. Book purchasers will receive a canvas bag, and snacks will be available for purchase. Accepting book donations of any kind, drop in the North Tahoe School entry foyer until the day of event. Truckee High School drama club invites you to save the dates for this year’s spring musical, andamp;#8220;Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.andamp;#8221; Be enchanted by this timeless classic based on the 1991 Disney film.
