Lily Gabriel, Deputy Commander for Cadets, said, and#8220;We were pleased that 95 flags were presented to us for retirement.and#8221; Cadet Commander Chief Master Sergeant Jon Friesen presided over the retirement ceremony. The CAP accepts flags year-round; Memorial Day and July 4 are just around the corner. Drop off American flags at Donner Lake Realty or, place in the bin inside the entrance of the Truckee-Tahoe Airport terminal building.

American flag etiquette

When installing the flag on a vehicle (including boats), the flag should be installed on the right side of the vehicle. A general rule of thumb is the stars (and#8220;unionand#8221;) should always be at the upper left corner when the flag is displayed. Additionally, when suspended across a street, the flag should be vertical, with the union to the north in an east-west street, or to the east in a north-south street.

Please join in honoring local fallen veterans at the Truckee Cemetery Monday, May 30 at 10 a.m.
