Tahoe Truckee Faith Factor: Paint a masterpiece
June 2, 2011
TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Do you want to move beyond your current situation and status in life? Then itand#8217;s time to take an attitude inventory. Itand#8217;s time to take responsibility for your inner thought patterns and bring them in line with the Truth of God. John C. Maxwell, in his book, and#8220;The Difference Maker, Making Your Attitude Your Best Assetand#8221; writes, and#8220;Your attitude colors every aspect of your life. It is like the mindand#8217;s paintbrush. It can paint everything in bright vibrant colors, creating a masterpiece. Or it can make everything dark and dreary.and#8221; Your attitude is an inward feeling expressed by an outward behavior. And of all the things we and#8220;wear,and#8221; this outward expression is quite possibly the most important.
I firmly believe in the great scriptural promise, and#8220;What you sow, so shall you reap.and#8221; All of the sowing and reaping we do comes from our thoughts and attitudes. Some of us know our thoughts create our reality. Our greatest challenge is to prevent our attitude from losing altitude. For if we lose altitude we enter into that cycle of negative thoughts, negative beliefs, wrong decision, wrong action, continual actions, bad habits and more negative thoughts. Weand#8217;ve all been there and done that and some of us are still living in that vicious cycle.
Changing our thinking is the first step in rising out of this cruel cycle. But in and of itself, it is not enough. At some point on the spiritual journey we must courageously face our unconscious, underlying beliefs and attitudes and change them as well. In other words we must bring the light of awareness out of our minds and down into the soul, where our unconscious thoughts reside. We can do this by constantly and consistently using every disturbing reaction to assist us in turning within. If we are willing we will be lead home, to the center of ourselves and see exactly what we believe about life.
Some of those beliefs arenand#8217;t and#8220;spiritual true!and#8221; So I challenge and invite you to courageously expose your own unconscious thoughts, and learn to gain and maintain the proper altitude of being positive, responsible, unselfish, humble and content. Remember, and#8220;Attitude is your thought life turned inside out for all to see.and#8221;
