Tahoe Truckee Flyfishers meet monthly for fun, fly tying and raffle

In 1984, a local group of avid flyfishermen dedicated to the enjoyment, preservation, fellowship and learning about the sport founded the Tahoe Truckee Flyfishers (TTFF).

Since its inception, the club has drawn a diverse, skilled and active membership and#8212; including some of the preeminent individuals involved in promoting and developing the sport.

Over the years, TTFF has been a leader in addressing conservation issues regarding the protection and restoration of local waters. In the recent past, TTFF has worked alone and in partnership with a wide range of other concerned organizations.

Every year the club contributes monies and other resources locally by fundraising to worthy environmental and community programs. In 2010, the club will again dedicate a day of education and instruction to the youth in local communities and for the first time, with the Truckee-Donner Recreation and Parks department, one for adults and others who are interested in the sport.

The club meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Squaw Valley Public Service Building (adjacent to the Fire Department) at 6:30 p.m. with guest speakers, fellowship, fly tying and a raffle for fishing gear.
