The Tahoe City Community and BloodSource invite you to the Tahoe City Community Blood Drive, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Tahoe City, Wednesday, June 10, from noon to 6 p.m. BloodSource blood donors give hope to accident victims, surgery patients, cancer patients and many others in need. Located at the Tahoe City Fire Station, 300 N. Lake Blvd. Free T-shirt to all participants. No appointment necessary.

Footwear donated from the campaign will support the elimination of Hookworm anemia in Sub-Saharan African villages. The hookworm, a soil-born parasite, enters through bare feet and resides in the small intestine of its host. The Corison Loft will host an exhibit Celebrating Seasonal Slow Foods, a group show featuring local artists at North Tahoe ARTS Center, 380 N. Lake Blvd., Tahoe City. These art pieces will celebrate the beauty of fresh fruits and veggies found at farmers markets, roadside stands or presented at table. This exhibit will be creative and have a great sense of humor. Some call this kitchen art. The Corison Loft is open Wednesday through Monday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Opening reception will be Friday, June 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. Call 581-2787.
