Teen Yoga: New Friday afternoon Truckee class teaches calm, compassion and focus

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; and#8220;Ahimsaand#8221; is a Sanskrit word meaning non-violence or non-aggression.

Ahimsa Yoga for Teens includes learning the eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga in a fun, creative and safe environment. Learning Ashtanga Yoga will make a huge difference for you in many ways for the rest of your life. With a just a little time each day devoted to your practice you will:

Kimball C. Pier is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Truckee. She offers couples, family and individual therapy incorporating Ashtanga Yoga and principles of Ayurveda into her practice. She is currently working toward her Ph.D. in Depth Psychology at Pacifica Graduate institute in Carpinteria, Calif. She received yoga teacher training at Deep Yoga School of Healing Arts in San Diego and is continuing to train specifically in Ashtanga Yoga.
