The Mille Autunno sports cars to cruise through Tahoe City

TAHOE CITY, Calif. andamp;#8212; Some 40 historic race cars that could have qualified for Italyandamp;#8217;s most famous race, the Mille Miglia or Thousand Mile, will focus a 1,000-mile weekend in Tahoe, Oct. 15-17. The Mille Autunno, or Autumn Thousand, sports cars from 1927-1957, which were the Mille Miglia years. Check out the cars and meet the drivers at the River Ranch Lodge andamp; Restaurant, corner of Highway 89 and Alpine Meadows Road, Friday, Oct. 15, from 5 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 16, from 4 p.m. The Mille Autunno, a nonprofit event, is the yearly sequel to the California Mille, a four-day, 1,000-mile drive that begins on Nob Hill, San Francisco, in April and concludes in Sonoma.
