The power of broad band light for serious correction and anti-aging

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; There is a new player in the field of age correction and#8212; our own skin. Itand#8217;s no longer just about looking good or appearing young; itand#8217;s about having healthy, happy skin. The types of products used to block the sun or tan damage skin more than protect it. People are realizing now the key to healthy skin is prevention. This comes in the form of Broad Band Light (BBL), which is a non-invasive treatment performed using a Sciton laser.

With BBL, there is no down time after the procedure. Patients discuss the target area they want to concentrate on with a BBL medical professional, which can be a brown spot(s), broken vessel or other skin damage. BBL uses different wavelengths of light and levels of power and delivery that the trained medical professional selects depending on the target area to penetrate. But unlike other invasive procedures, the laser does not puncture the skin; rather, it assists the skin in helping to heal and rejuvenate itself.

If the target area is a brown spot, for example, the laser focuses on that target and breaks it up. The body will in turn naturally send the cells creating the brown spot to the surface of the skin. In other words, the skin naturally pushes the brown spot to the surface and then sheds it off over time. If blood vessels are the target area, the BBL laser light will calm the inflammation causing the redness. The light ultimately dissipates the existing blood in the vessel so that the body can reabsorb it. Therein lies the beauty of using a procedure like this to correct imperfections in the skin and#8212; the healing powers of the wonderfully designed body really do all the work.

Another realized benefit of the treatment is cells that have been dormant since childhood are reawakened. As a result, these dormant cells work with the body to prevent further damage and maintain clean, glowing skin. Now, the healthy skin we knew as children can once again be ours.

Here at Renovation Medical Spa in Cauglin Ranch, Nev., I personally have trained seven top skin care professionals to perform this exciting treatment.
