Town of Truckee cardboard recycling returns

Community cardboard drop-off locations are available for residential use. Locations include the Nevada County Sheriffsand#8217; Station located at the corner of Levon and Donner Pass Road and the back parking lot of Truckee Town Hall, 10183 Truckee Airport Road. There are two self-serve six-yard dumpsters, simply break down and flatten cardboard boxes. Please do not leave trash, hazardous waste or anything besides cardboard in or around these bins. Please do not leave cardboard if the bins are full or if adding cardboard prevents the lids on the bins from closing properly.-

In addition to the community cardboard recycling bins, cardboard is also accepted in blue bags for curbside pickup. Please do not leave bundles of cardboard outside of blue bags at the curb. Blue bags protects the cardboard from contamination and ensure its recyclability. Non blue bagged cardboard left at the curb will be treated as trash and charged accordingly.-

Cardboard is also accepted in unlimited quantities at the Eastern Regional Landfill Recycling Center (ERL). Again, break down and flatten boxes and drop off at the recycling center for free. ERL is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. ERL is located on Cabin Creek Road approximately three miles outside of Truckee off Highway 89 South.– Check the web for a list of additional items accepted at ERL, visit http://www.KeepTruckeeGreen.org. –
