Troop 267 honors new Eagle Scout

On Dec. 18, 2008, the Nevada Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, deemed Jacob Ikaika Cofer worthy of Scoutings highest rank, Eagle Scout. Ikaika became the Troops 37th Eagle Scout, the fifth Eagle Scout in 2008. Less than 2 percent of Scouts worldwide earn Scoutings highest rank. On Saturday, March 28, 2009, Truckee Troop 267 held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor to celebrate his achievement. The celebration was held at Truckee Donner Recreation andamp; Park Districts Church Street community Center. Local businessman and longtime acquaintance of the Cofer family Paul Curtis was the Master of Ceremonies. More than 120 family, friends, Scouts and distinguished guests attended this Eagle Scout Court of Honor. The award ceremony was followed by a Hawaiian Luau complete with hula and hip-hop dancers. The Cofer family thanks everyone who assisted Ikaika along the Eagle Trail.
