Truckee, Come on down: Local man to appear Friday morning on ‘Price is Right’

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Johnny Criscione, a nurse at Tahoe Forest Health System’s Incline Village hospital and paramedic instructor at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno almost passed out when he was chosen from and#8220;The Price is Rightand#8221; studio audience.

and#8220;Everyone was screaming so loud and having such a good time,and#8221; laughed Criscione. and#8220;My nephew’s jaw just about dropped to the floor when he saw my name on the card. He was just as shocked as I, going hysterical, screaming and jumping up and down!and#8221;

Criscione wanted to take his nephew Sean Richard, 18, to see the show for quite some time and went online for tickets. He got the desired date and the two men arrived at 5:30 a.m. for interviews in Southern Cal’s Studio City. In the studio audience with about 400 others at 1 p.m., Richard spotted his uncle’s name first and shouted and#8220;Go! Go! Go!and#8221;

and#8220;I was weak in the knees and stood there for what seemed to be five minutes, but was probably five seconds,and#8221; said Criscione. and#8220;I was absolutely shell-shocked.and#8221; He got a big hug from the first woman to be chosen after his run down the aisle. When Drew Carey, and#8220;The Price is Rightand#8221; host announced the first item, Criscione couldn’t focus he was so nervous. The noise, the crowd, the excitement just about and#8220;blew his mind.and#8221;

Truckee’s latest local celebrity says it’s one of the neatest things people can do. and#8220;Drew Carey is truly one if the nicest people on earth and he brings a whole new light to the show,and#8221; enthused Criscione. and#8220;I would love to do it all over again.and#8221;
