Truckee local Elizabeth Scott wrote, illustrated and published 'Harry the Invisible Bug.'

How many second graders do you know who are also published authors? I know of just one: 7-year-old Elizabeth Scott, who attends Truckee Elementary and recently wrote, illustrated and published a delightful picture book entitled and#8220;Harry the Invisible Bug.and#8221;

The story is about a sand beetle who makes a friend while overcoming a nasty invisibility potion.

Elizabeth always had a facility for reading. She read her first book in kindergarten when her teacher told her to go and#8220;readand#8221; (look at) a book. She discovered there was only one word in the entire book she didnand#8217;t know. That summer, she joined the Truckee Library Summer Reading Program to hone her new-found hobby: reading. She completed the program earning a gift certificate from the Bookshelf at Hooligan Rocks. She used the gift certificate to purchase her very first chapter book Now, just two years later, Elizabethand#8217;s book is available for purchase at the Bookshelf in the Gateway Center and Boatworks Mall or for check-out the Truckee
