Sign up now for Truckee River Day. Participants will have their choice of half day or full day projects followed by a celebration at the Truckee River Day Fair. The fair will include live music, food, educational and art activities, and the annual fish release. The Tahoe City Parks and Recreation Department would like to invite you to join in an afternoon full of creativity. The Holiday Craft Bazaar is going into its second year at the Rideout Community Center Saturday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The TCPUD Recreation Department is looking for local artists and craftsmen to show off their creativity and display their work. Chris Snideman and Robert Bousquet to speak about a new technology poised to impact local aviation noise. Silicon Mountain will host their monthly meeting Monday, Oct. 11, 6-8 p.m. at Tahoe Donner’s Pizza on the Hill, 11509 Northwoods Blvd., Truckee. Snideman, now working with the Truckee Airport, will discuss the specific challenges of starting his new venture, http://www.whispertrack.com, an aviation navigation database company attacking one of aviation’s greatest challenges: the negative effects of aircraft noise. Bousquet will address the challenges of keeping 100 percent of the founding efforts local and how they created proprietary database and process solutions to solve the effects of aviation noise.
