Main fire station the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District Local 2139, 871 Tanager St., Incline Village, Nev., invites the community to enjoy hot-off-the griddle pink chocolate chip pancakes served with fruit, sausage, coffee and juice, Saturday, Oct. 9, 9 a.m.-noon. Childrenandamp;#8217;s tours in the smoke safety trailer and fire truck. The Susan G. Komen Foundation will have a cancer information table. A $5 donation is requested, proceeds go to Susan G. Head into Tahoe City this year for a family fun afternoon at the annual Cobblestone Oktoberfest, Saturday, Oct. 9, 1-4 p.m. Featuring fine New Belgium Brews and live music from Deja Vu. Pumpkin painting, apple bobbing and hot chocolate, wines from Uncorked Tahoe City and German food from Evergreen.
2010 Scarecrows on Parade. Walk through town and vote for your five favorite scarecrows. Ballots will be available at Oktoberfest, Saturday, Oct. 9 and throughout the month at Geared for Games, The Store Copies andamp; More, TCDA Office, and the TC Visitors Center.
The women of the Kings Beach United Methodist Church, 8425 Dolly Varden Ave., Kings Beach, will hold a soup luncheon, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 9, in the downstairs fellowship hall. The cost is $5 for all you-can-eat soup, bake sale also. Call 530-546-2290.
