The 2nd Annual Donner Lake Memorial Weekend Stand-up/Prone Paddleboard Race, Saturday, May 29, 2010, kicks off the Quiksilver Tahoe Stand-up/Prone Paddleboard Race Series. This is a 5-mile fun race that circumnavigates Donner Lake. The start is 9 a.m. at the Donner Lake west-end beach. Spectators are welcome. Cycle through the historic ranchlands of Sierra Valley June 12 beginning at 8 a.m. along one of three easy routes, 62 miles, 45 miles, or 30 miles for this annual Sierraville Volunteer Fire Department fundraiser. The Tahoe Forest Cancer Center offers weekly support group meetings for cancer patients, their families and friends. 2010 Tahoe Forest Cancer Center support group schedule, every Monday 6-8 p.m. A new group is offered every Wednesday 2-4 p.m. No group on holidays and May 26. Fitness Forever is a senior program that has inspired men and women for years. Cardio endurance segment features low and non-impact aerobic dance. Weight lifting segment uses small hand weights and tubing to sculpt muscles as well as build endurance. Combined with balance, flexibility and functional fitness this is a great class for seniors of all fitness levels!
