Keep event description to 50 words.Support groups for domestic violence survivorsTahoe SAFE Alliance is now offering two support groups for women who are survivors of domestic violence. One group is in Spanish and held on Thursday evenings, and one group is in English which is held on Tuesday evenings. Both groups are from 6-7:30 p.m. and snacks are provided. During the support groups, TSA will offer a childrenandamp;#8217;s appropriate group with fun activities and snacks. These groups will be held the first three Tuesdays and Thursdays of each month. The event will run 5:30-6:30 p.m. Registration begins at 5:15 p.m. at the Community Arts Center, 10046 Church St., Truckee.Fusing hypnotic Latin and international rhythms with easy-to-follow moves, Zumba Fitness is a Latin-inspired cardio workout creating a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness system.Participants will engage in 60 minutes of Latin rhythms to keep everyone sweating and having fun. No experience necessary. This event is open to the public ages 13 and over and welcomes all members of the community. Join Clair Tappaan Lodgeandamp;#8217;s General Manager Peter Lehmkuhl as he leads a 2-mile jaunt over the rolling hills and through the towering pines of the Tahoe National Forest. Learn about Donner Summit and Sierra Club history as the tour makes its way to Valencia Vista with its commanding views of Summit Valley and the peaks of Donner Summit. The tour begins at 4 p.m. and is open to Clair Tappaan Lodge guests as well as the general public. A suggested tax deductible donation of $10 per person is encouraged to bring underprivileged students. Equipment rental is available for $5 while supplies last. Each tour has a capacity of 14 so reservations are recommended at 800-679-6775.Skiing for Schools Days continue in March and AprilWith a series of winter storms predicted to bring much-appreciated fresh snow to Lake Tahoe, the Excellence in Education Foundation reminds skiers and riders there are several opportunities to purchase Skiing for Schools discount tickets. Ski and ride for $35 or less and support education when you pre-purchase Skiing for Schools lift tickets to participating resorts. In addition, this winter, all resorts have expanded the number of days the discounted tickets are valid. Upcoming Skiing for Schools days include: Sugar Bowl, $35 lift ticket valid any one day through March 30; Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, $35 lift ticket valid any one day at either resort from April 15-end of season.Downhill resort tickets may be purchased the week prior to the valid period at Porters Sports locations in Truckee and Tahoe City. A limited number of tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis and will not be available at the resorts the day of the event. Check and cash are preferred form of payment. Tickets are not refundable.
