Truckee AYSO is holding soccer registration at the Community Arts Center on Church Street, May 20 and 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Divisions include U6-U19. Cost is $70 per child, by cash or checks only. Forms and info is available at http://www.truckeeAYSO.org. Volunteers are needed.
May is National Osteoporosis Awareness/Prevention Month. As a community service, NaturaMed Natural Family Medicine in Kings Beach is proud to offer a free osteopenia / osteoporosis screening using ultrasound bone density technology. Ultrasound technology has a high correlation to “gold standard” DXA analysis. The Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District will offer four bocce ball leagues this summer and spaces are filling up fast. The leagues are scheduled to start play the week of June 6 and run until Aug. 25. The cost of the league is $140 per team and it is open to all ages. Teams usually consist of four to eight players. Games will be played at the bocce courts at Riverview Sports Park. For more information or to register call 582-7720.
In honor of National Physical Fitness and Sports Month in May, Jazzercise instructor Ginny Smith is offering two free weeks to all new students.Classes are held at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach, Monday through Saturday, 8:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
