Truckee Tahoe Sunshine Letters

On the morning of Oct. 5, 2010 our house in Kings Beach caught fire while we were away in Southern California. A neighbor called in the fire when he saw smoke pouring out of our home. My understanding is that the North Tahoe Fire Protection District along with Cal Fire responded quickly and got the fire under control minutes before it took the entire structure and possibly neighboring homes. Although the house has been stripped down to the studs and most of our belongings were lost due to smoke, we are so grateful to the firefighters for their quick response which resulted in saving the structure. On behalf of our entire family, we would like to publicly thank you for your efforts. Also, a special thank you to Dave Ruben with the NTFPD for his communicating the facts to us over the phone.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the Rotary Club, the Truckee Rec Center, and all are wonderful friends for the Spaghetti Feed to benefit the Chris Matthew Heart and Lung Transplant Fund. We are truly amazed at the outpouring of love and generosity shown by one and all. You have no idea how much it means to us to know we live in such a great town filled with wonderful people who never fail to step up to help a neighbor in need. Chris is doing great and we canand#8217;t wait to be back home!

Admissions representatives came from four-year, two-year, and vocational colleges from all over the country to speak to our students.
