Truckeeand#8217;s green groove continues
July 26, 2010
TRUCKEE. Calif. and#8212; Truckee residents and businesses are encouraged to properly dispose of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) by utilizing the HHW drop-off events. All events occur at the Eastern Regional Landfill and require an appointment to participate at 583.0148 to schedule an appointment today.
What is HHW?
Many households have a variety of items under the sink and in the garage that classify as HHW and need to be properly disposed of to prevent threats to public health and the environment. Look for any of these key words on product labels: Toxic, flammable, combustible, explosive, corrosive, or otherwise dangerous. It is illegal to dispose of HHW in your garbage!
Upcoming residential drop-off events are July 31, Aug. 21, Sept. 4, Sept. 18, Oct. 9, Nov. 6.
Restrictions: 15 gallons or 125 pounds per residential appointment. Fees apply for business HHW disposal. For more-information call TTSD at 583-0148 or the Town of Truckee Solid Waste Division at 582-2909. Located on the top of Cabin Creek Road off Highway 89.-
