Word on the Street: With primary season behind us, who’s your pick for U.S. president?
June 16, 2016
TRUCKEE, Calif. — This week's question: With primary season behind us, who's your pick for U.S. president in November?
Here are answers, as asked Monday in Truckee:
Kim Yamauchi, self-employed, Truckee: "Hillary Clinton. She's certainly more qualified than the other candidate (Donald Trump). I honestly have a hard time even listening to the other candidate, and the trust factor with the other candidate is very low."
Jason Mills, reggae DJ/home builder, Truckee: "(Bernie) Sanders. I mean, we definitely don't want (Donald) Trump, and we definitely don't need Hillary (Clinton). (Sanders) is the most levelheaded person; he should've been in office a long time ago, and we probably wouldn't be in the situations we're in."
Sparky Kramer, luthier (guitar repairman), Truckee: "Probably Hillary Clinton. Experience; I think that she's done a fairly good job of what she's already done (as Secretary of State)."
Carson Cottel, lifeguard, Truckee: "I'd have to say Hillary Clinton, just because she's already had experience in the government. And (Donald) Trump is a businessman and seems to be a little excessive, and I think that leaves us with Hillary as our best option."
