Partly cloudy and breezy today, cooler with a chance of showers Wednesday

Tom Cylke

An approaching trough of low pressure will bring increasing clouds and southwest winds to the Lake Tahoe area this afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for Lake Tahoe from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. today for southwest winds 15 to 30 mph. Highs today are expected to top out in the upper 60s around the lake which is about 10 degrees above the seasonal normals for early May.

Lows tonight are forecast to be rather mild due to cloudy skies with readings in the mid to upper 30s.

Look for cloudy and cooler conditions with a chance of showers on Wednesday as the trough of low pressure passes over the area.

Highs Wednesday are forecast to reach the upper 50s to lower 60s at lake level. Precipitation amounts with this shower activity are expected to be light with snow mostly above 7,000 feet.
