Donald Neal Patterson of Colfax died Aug. 16 at the age of 67.

Born on the Fourth of July, 1940, in San Francisco to Cecil B. Patterson and Bertha Wilkin, Don grew up in the Bay Area and after finishing his education became a heavy equipment operator who worked at the American Bridge, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Squaw Valley Ski Resort and the TNT concrete batch plant.

He was a member of an antique Bottle Club and Heads Colfax Car Club, where he pursued two of his many favorite hobbies: classic cars, antiques, gold dredging, diving, bottle digging, hanging out on the beach, at Lake Tahoe and in the mountains.

Don is survived by his children: Jeff and Chrissy Patterson, Terri Isble, Jenni and Bert Reese; his grandchildren: Felicia, Shawn, Michael, Tim, Gavin, Nick, Kristal; his great grandchild Kyle, and his long-time girlfriend Jan Bolt and her children: Dianne and Rob Wolfe and Steve Bolt; and grandchildren Christopher, Kenton, Amber, Wyatt, and Kenna. He will be missed dearly.

Family services were privately held.
