Phantom of the Opera, South Pacific among Broadway hits in Truckee Friday

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Truckee Community Theater is hosting a special family-themed concert at the outdoor Truckee Regional Park amphitheater this Friday, Aug. 28.

Enjoy songs from many of your favorite Broadway shows sung by talented performers from Truckee, Tahoe, and Reno, including “My Fair Lady,” “South Pacific,” “Big River,” “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” “Bye, Bye Birdie,” “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Les Miserables.”

The concert will also feature members of the Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus singing a medley from “The Phantom of the Opera.”

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the “Salty” Gebhart Amphitheater at Truckee River Regional Park, 10050 Brockway Road. Bring a picnic and wine to enjoy before the 8 p.m. start of the show.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, $10 for kids (ages 6-17), and free for kids five and under. Tickets may be purchased ahead in Truckee at Cabona’s, Dickson Realty, The Office Boss, and the counter at the Community Recreation Center.
