Picture-perfect today, increasing clouds and wind Friday
April 17, 2008
High pressure will be dominant today with sunny skies, light winds and warmer temperatures.
Afternoon highs are expected to reach the lower to mid 60s around the lake and near 50 at the 8,000 foot resort level. Low tonight are forecast to drop into the mid and upper 20s under mostly clear skies.
Clouds and wind will be on the increase Friday in advance of a large and cold low pressure system dropping south from the Pacific Northwest.
Highs on Friday are projected to reach the upper 50s around the lake with southwest winds 15 to 30 mph in the afternoon.
Look for much cooler and windy conditions on Saturday leading to a chance of light snow by Saturday night into Sunday.
Highs by Sunday are forecast to be in the upper 30s or nearly 20 degrees below the seasonal normal for this time of year. Summer is only two months away.
