Pinball Rally brings talent to Northstar

About 75 competitors participated in the first Pinball Rally ski and snowboard contest of the season at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort on Sunday.
Jessica Van Pernis, communications manager at Northstar, said the “Jib for Kids” freestyle contest drew one of the larger turnouts for a Pinball Rally ” a five-event competitive series that continues throughout the winter.
Held on Sunday afternoons, each Pinball Rally event cost $10 to enter. Future Pinball rally contests include the Stash Session on Jan. 13, followed by the Superpipe competition on Jan. 27, Slopestyle on March 9 and the Finale on April 6.
On Saturday, Northstar will host the Coupe de Shred ’07 North Shore/South Shore shop battle on a jib jam course set up on Pinball. The event takes place from 11a.m.-2 p.m., with an Apres Party in the Village from 5-8 p.m. afterwards and a live band.

Town Council hears presentation on new library
Friends of the Truckee Library gave a presentation at Tuesday’s Truckee Town Council meeting, providing an update on work to ensure a new library while asking for further support for the project.
