Placer County offices closed in Tahoe

All non-essential Placer County government offices in the Lake Tahoe and Truckee area will be closed today due to inclement weather.

The National Weather Service is predicting significant snow and wind to the Sierra Nevada with continuous snowfall and whiteout conditions over the Lake Tahoe Basin and mountain pass areas, according to Robert Miller, Placer County public information officer.

Public safety and snow removal operations will be working; however most other Placer County offices in the Sierra Nevada will remain closed for the day. With travel expected to be treacherous throughout the day, residents are encouraged to avoid any unnecessary trips.
