Placer County offices to be closed Monday, April 13

Sun Staff Report

PLACER COUNTY “-Placer County offices will be closed Monday, April 13, 2009 as a cost-saving measure.

All county emergency response and 24-hour-a-day services will continue uninterrupted, including law enforcement and emergency support to individuals, such as Child Protective Services.

Monday is one of four days this fiscal year that county offices have been or will be closed as approximately 2,200 county employees, including confidential and management employees, take unpaid, mandatory time off. This action was approved by the Board of Supervisors on Dec. 9. to help fill a gap in the 2008-09 budget, which was thrown out of balance as property taxes, sales taxes, investments and other revenues declined sharply.

County transit services will be available as usual.
