Placer County supes OK $3.9 million Kings Beach 3-lane agreement
AUBURN, Calif. and#8212; The Placer County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday unanimously approved a $3.9 million service agreement with Dokken Engineering for the Kings Beach three-lane project that will resize Highway 28 from a four-lane road to a three-lane road.
In conjunction with the agreement, Placer County Public Works is in the process of organizing community meetings for the Neighborhood Traffic Management Plan. Targeted to be constructed this summer, the plan is designed to compensate for the estimated back traffic caused by the resize.
and#8220;With all the various agency approvals, Placer County is now poised to move forward with detailed design of the project,and#8221; said Public Works Deputy Director Peter Kraatz in a county press release.
The $45 million project is estimated to take three construction seasons, from 2011 to 2013. The county said that more than 6,000 feet of sidewalk will be created in addition to parking spaces, parking lots and water quality improvements.
