Placer County voter registration deadline nears

The last day for Placer County residents to register to vote for the Nov. 7 election is Oct. 23.

The Placer County Elections Division in Auburn will be open two weekends before the election, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29, Nov. 4 and Nov. 5. The office is located at 2956 Richardson Drive in Auburn. Call (800) 824-8683 for more information.

Registration forms are available at all post offices and libraries in Placer County.



Voters may register to vote, find their polling place and find out election results on the Placer County Web site, http://www.placer.ca.gov/elections.

New changes specific to small counties allow them to use the total number of cases in a week as a metric if their positivity rate meets the threshold to move into a less restrictive tier but their case rate doesn’t meet requirements.
