Placer County’s Tahoe public works division to move from Truckee to the lake
TAHOE VISTA, Calif. and#8212; Easier accessibility for customers is the main reason behind Placer Countyand#8217;s decision to move its Tahoe public works department engineering team into Tahoe Vista, officials said Tuesday.
The move from Truckee will take place over the weekend, and the department will reopen on Tuesday, April 27, at the new facility at 7717 North Lake Blvd., formerly offices for the California State Automobile Association, which built the building in 1990.
and#8220;The new Tahoe Engineering Division office will allow County staff to be closer to the customers we serve and the lake that we are helping to protect,and#8221; said DPW Director Ken Grehm.
Placer County purchased the 3,344-square-foot building in March for $860,000. The county also will upgrade the facilityand#8217;s stormwater area, adhering to Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Best Management Practices environmental standards.
The Tahoe Engineering Division consists of 11 staff members, including Department of Public Works Deputy Director Peter Kraatz. The division will have the same telephone numbers it had in Truckee, officials said.
