Police arrest trio in Truckee burglary ring, find crystal meth

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Three locals were arrested last weekend Truckee in connection with a recent spate of residential and vehicle burglaries.
According to a Wednesday press release from Truckee Police, a recent investigation led officers to issue several search warrants on Saturday, March 9. After making contact with Anthony William Torres, 19 — who is a gang member —officers found him to allegedly have “a large amount” of crystal methamphetamine and cash. Torres was arrested for possession of controlled substances for sale and was charged in connection with several burglaries in Truckee.
Officers then contacted Truckee resident Sergio Sanchez, 19, who was suspected of being an accomplice to Torres. When Sanchez was approached by police, he reportedly ran, got into the vehicle of his girlfriend, Sabrina Kantlehner, 18, and tried to hide.
Police found Sanchez in the back of the car and arrested him, according to the press release. Sanchez was allegedly in possession of crystal meth. He faces charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale and attempted burglary.
Kantlehner also was arrested on a charge of aiding and abetting a known felon, according to police.
