Police make $140K pot bust

Local police and Federal Drug Enforcement Agency officers searched two Truckee homes Thursday and found an estimated $140,000 worth of marijuana plants, according to Truckee police.No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.

According to police, the residences – one at 10351 Somerset Drive in Glenshire and the other at 10457 Reynolds Way near the Ponderosa Golf Course – are linked. The home on Reynolds was a rental.

Officers found “very sophisticated grow equipment” at both residences, valued at approximately $10,000 and more than 70 live marijuana plants at the Reynolds Way house, according to police. Other evidence at the Somerset Drive home suggested a recent marijuana harvest, police said.Truckee police officials could not be reached on Tuesday for more information.
