Police search for Tahoe Vista hit-and-run suspect

TAHOE VISTA ” Authorities continue to search for the driver of a light blue, early 90s Subaru wagon involved in a hit-and-run that took place at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Monday in Tahoe Vista.

The collision left one pedestrian with major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A gray Dodge Durango was traveling East bound on Highway 28 when the Subaru, also traveling eastbound, suddenly changed lanes in front of the Durango.

The pedestrian, who was walking west bound on the south shoulder of the road, was struck by the Durango after it took evasive action and swerved right to avoid the Subaru.

After the incident, the driver of the Subaru fled the scene and headed eastbound on route 28 towards Kings Beach.

The pedestrian is hospitalized.

Anyone with information about the collision or the identity of the Subaru driver is urged to call the Truckee area highway patrol office at (530) 582-7570.
