Post offices announce holiday schedules

Post offices in Tahoe City and Truckee will close early on Christmas Eve, and reopen for regular hours the day after Christmas.

The Tahoe City Post Office will be open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday. For an alternate location that will be open later, visit the Kings Beach Post Office at 8633 Salmon St., Kings Beach.

Truckee’s Main Post Office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Monday, and the Donner station on Deerfield Drive will be open from 9 until noon.



Postal offices will open on Saturday with abbreviated hours. The Tahoe City Post Office will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, while the Truckee Main office will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Donner station on Deerfield will be open for parcel pickup on Saturday.



The post office will have normal delivery service on Monday. Customers who receive notices to pick up packages are encouraged to visit the post office before Christmas.

“If you have a yellow notice, come and get it,” said Terry James, Truckee’s acting postmaster.

Post offices in the Tahoe-Truckee area will resume normal hours of operation on Wednesday.
