VILLAGE AT NORTHSTAR ” The ongoing construction of the Ritz-Carlton is a beacon of hope for at least one business owner at Northstar-at Tahoe.

According to Robin Griffo, owner of the Villager Candle Shop, the Ritz played a role in her decision to open at Northstar.

Griffo considered opening her shop in Heavenly but believed Northstar, with the addition of Ritz clientele, would be a better fit for her business.

“I think we’re going to give Aspen a run for their money,” said Griffo.

Ritz guests and residents will be able to access the Village at Northstar through a private gondola, or as some business owners see it, an economic lifeline.

“The Ritz will bring with it a type of clientele our businesses have been waiting for,” said Heath Nielsen, Vice President in charge of Commercial Properties and Operations for Booth Creek Resorts.
