Quinn takes Tahoe National Forest reins

Sun news service

New Forest Supervisor Tom Quinn started this week at the Tahoe National Forest headquarters in Nevada City.

He was formerly Supervisor of the Stanislaus National Forest in Sonora and has spent 27 years with the Forest Service in Oregon, Idaho, Washington, New Mexico, Arizona and California.

He replaces Steve Eubanks, who retired in January after 37 years with the USFS and nine years leading the TNF.

“This is a beautiful area with interesting, vibrant communities and a dedicated Forest Service workforce,” Quinn said. “I am looking forward to getting out to the field, seeing the forest as well as meeting employees and members of the public.”

Quinn and his wife, Sue, have two sons, Michael, 11, and Will, 18, who is a freshman at the University of California at Davis.
