Railroaders no match for Truckee girls soccer

Junior captain Addie Shaffer and sophomore Stephanie O’Neil each posted hat tricks and the Truckee High girls soccer team cruised to a 10-0 win over visiting Sparks on Tuesday.

O’Neil also added three assists and Shaffer two to compliment the six goals between them.

Freshman Kelsey Porter scored two first-half goals, and Katy Stephens and Kelsi Decker contributed a goal apiece to round off the scoring. Decker also had an assist, as did sophomore Lena DeCrescenzo.

Senior goalkeeper Michelle Plapp had one save and one assist from midfield play before sophomore Cammie Greenbach took over in the second half.

Truckee, which defeated Sparks 15-0 back on Sept. 4, is now 7-0-2 in the Northern 3A.

The Wolverines host Whittell in a makeup game on Thursday at 4 p.m. The game will be played at Truckee RiverView Sports Park.

After traveling to Yerington on Friday, Truckee hosts North Tahoe in its senior farewell game on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
