Realtors among nation’s top 100

Nancy Davis and Bob Yoder are the cream of the crop when it comes to selling real estate.

Realtor Magazine, which is put out by the National Association of Realtors, ranked the Davis-Yoder Group of Countryside Realtors 68th in its Top 100 list for 2000.

“It was a pretty good year in Truckee last year for everybody,” Yoder said modestly, although the duo were the only Tahoe-area realtors to make the list.

The Top 100 list was compiled after realtors from across the nation were surveyed and then judged on a criterion of total dollar volume and number of units sold.

“The second criteria is important because you could have someone in Beverly Hills sell three $50 million homes and someone else sell 200 homes in a less affluent market,” Yoder said.

Yoder and Davis made the list by selling 162 properties for a total of about $50 million. The average realtor in the U.S. sells about five properties per year, Yoder said.

The Davis-Yoder Group has operated in Truckee for 10 years.

Its philosophy is specializing different people to different aspects of completing transactions, like buying and advertising.

Davis and Yoder are the sellers in the group, he said.

Yoder said 2000 was a boom year because many dot-commers were “chasing properties.” He doesn’t expect 2001 to have the same windfall for realtors.

“We’ve gone from an unprecedented seller’s market to an unprecedented buyer’s market,” he said.

“I think it’s going to be a buyers market for a while.”
