Reining in of council meetings sought
Sierra Sun
Town council meetings lasting late into the night may be a thing of the past if town decision makers decide to enforce a policy that cuts off the meetings at 10 p.m.
A resolution on the conduct of meetings, which was adopted by the town’s first council, states that a meeting will end by 10 p.m. unless a vote is taken to extend it by 30-minute increments.
The policy has largely been ignored in the past, but Truckee town staff recently rediscovered the resolution and are asking the council to either adhere to the policy or rescind it.
The item is the last issue on the agenda for Thursday’s council meeting, which ends after the Sierra Sun deadline for publication.
