IF YOU GO …

When: Monday, July 31, 7:30 p.m.

The Reno Jazz Orchestra will take the stage in Sand Harbor for the first time this summer on Monday, July 31. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., the performers present Roots in the Blues.
“The Reno Jazz Orchestra’s 18-piece jazz band will bring the many shades of ‘blue’ to the stage in a tour de force performance that includes songs, swing and soul from some of the top vocalists in the business,” states the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival website.
Guests can expect a full evening that features a mix of blues styles.
“Hear tunes from where the blues began and big band interpretations of Count Basie and Duke Ellington.
“From there it’s off to the world of rock, funk, rhythm and blues — and a little twist of country, too!” continues the site.
And the show features Reno-based lead singer Pat Esters and former Tower of Power member Trey Stone, too.
Can’t make it to the Monday evening performance? Don’t worry: the Reno Jazz Orchestra returns with a new show on Sept. 2.
Tickets begin at $27 and are available online through the venue’s website.
The Warren Edward Trepp Stage is located at 2005 Highway 28 in Incline Village, Nevada.
