Robert Carder identified as man killed by train

TRUCKEE ” Investigators looking into the fatal accident that occurred on the train tracks near Cold Creek Friday morning identified the deceased as Robert Carder.

The Placer County Coroner’s office said they had little information other than the name.

While they had contacted the next of kin, Placer County investigators said they did not know where Carder lived or what he was doing Friday when the Amtrak train struck and killed him.

Union Pacific is also participating in the investigation. This story will be updated.
