Round-about complete

Jesse Martin, Steve Dalton, Chris Luhner and Vic Hypes put finising touches on the new roundabouts on Tuesday.

Staff reports

Truckee roundabouts along Highway 89 have taken shape and the new traffic features could be open by the weekend or next week, said Bob Burton of the Town of Truckee.

Construction crews are still working on striping lanes and installing signs. Two retaining walls under the Interstate 80 overpass will also have to be built before the project is complete, said Linda Burdick, of Burdick Excavating, the company that is building the roundabouts.
