Sanitary District honored

Truckee Sanitary District has been awarded the honor of representing the California Water Environment Association, Sierra section, in its statewide annual awards program.

Nominations are judged on regulatory compliance, accomplishments, preventative maintenance, safety, training programs, presentation, emergency procedures and administrative procedures.

Truckee Sanitary District will compete statewide in the category of Collection System of the Year (medium size category, 250-500 miles of pipe).

This will be the Truckee Sanitary District’s second nomination from the Sierra section, having won “BEST of the BEST” in this category at the state level in 1997.

The California Water Environment Association is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the education and effectiveness of California waste water professionals through training, certification, dissemination of technical information and promotion of sound policies to benefit society though protection and enhancement of the water environment.

The Sierra section has 284 members from 43 agencies and businesses involved in wastewater collection and water reclamation from Mammoth Lakes to Carson City, including all of the Lake Tahoe area.
