School board to meet

A likely plan-of-action for housing Tahoe City students during renovations will be discussed during the July 25 board meeting of the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District in Truckee.

According to John Britto, the district’s facilities director, students will remain on campus, with portable classroom units brought in to supplement the space crunch while renovation work is performed on North Tahoe High and Middle schools.

“We’ll phase the project,” Britto said, explaining that the work would not become disruptive enough to merit housing students off campus.

Specifics of the plan will be presented at the board meeting, as well as information pertaining to project funding and available government dollars.

Though nothing is written in stone, Britto said the district will most likely go with some variation of the housing plan presented Wednesday night.

“It’s a discussion item at this point,” he said. “There’s still a lot of information we need to get.”

The district’s board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at 11839 Donner Pass Road in Truckee.
