Search continues for utility manager

On Tuesday, Truckee’s public utility board met in a closed session to discuss the potential selection for a permanent general manager.

But utility officials said the board did not take any action.

In August, General Manager Peter Holzmeister retired after 23 years with the Tahoe Donner Public Utility District, and John Ulrich was hired to fill in as the district’s interim manager.

Although the five-member board of directors did not announce a hiring after Tuesday’s meeting, Ulrich said the search for a new manager will be concluded as quickly as possible.

“The board is still going through the process of deciding who an appropriate person would be,” Ulrich said in an interview Thursday.

The directors are working with Rocklin-based Ralph Anderson and Associates ” a consulting firm that specializes in recruiting executives for publicly owned companies ” to assist with finding a permanent replacement.

The Truckee utility expects to spend about $20,000 on the search, an official said previously.
