Second meeting on Truckee arts center slated Aug. 6

TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District will conduct a second meeting at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Veterans Hall Building to hear feedback on potential changes to the Community Arts Center.

The first half hour of the meeting will be to gather community input from those who didn’t attend the first meeting in July. Starting at 7 p.m., both new and returning attendees will review project priorities identified at both meetings and develop a strategy for upgrading the facility with the TDRPD board of directors.

Upgrades suggested at the first meeting include the sound system, lighting system, blackout curtains, design/ambiance and house lighting, among others.

In May, the TDRPD board voted to use $200,000 in previously allocated funds for performing arts on the Community Arts Center, located at 10046 Church Street.
