Seeauer, Esther A.

Esther A. Seeauer passed away May 6 at the age of 95, in Truckee, Calif., surrounded by her daughters and granddaughters.

She was born in Alameda, Calif., on March 28, 1912, and was raised in Los Banos. She completed business college and went to work for Miller and Lux where she met Bill Seeauer. They married in 1935 and spent 67 wonderful years together until his death in 2002. During those years, Esther ran a boarding house for Shell Oil Company while Bill worked on Shell’s pipeline in the Central Valley. She volunteered as a nurse’s aide in Oakland hospitals during the war years while waiting for Bill to return home from the war. They moved to Sacramento in 1951. Esther retired as a film librarian with the State of California in 1971 and enjoyed many years of traveling with Bill.

Esther would always find the best in anybody. She was generous, forgiving, and non-judgmental. Her rational advice and loving consolation will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Marty Woods of Truckee and Sydney Seeauer of Granite Bay; sons-in-law, Brad Woods and Bill McDonald; and granddaughters, Monica Farrell of Japan and Jeanine Farrell of Oklahoma.

The family requests remembrances be sent to the Tahoe Forest Hospice, P.O. Box 759, Truckee, CA 96160.
